U.S. cotton attracts big names in Paris

Championing the benefits of U.S. cotton, CCI and Cotton Incorporated jointly exhibited at Texworld and Première Vision trade shows in Paris last month, with Supima® joining the booth at Texworld. Approximately 62,000 visitors from more than 100 countries attended the two shows, representing a 10 percent increase on last year and a return to 2008 pre-crisis figures.

Texworld and Première Vision represent the largest combined exhibition of the world’s leading apparel manufacturers, with 826 exhibitors from 27 countries for Texworld and 757 for Première Vision. Many COTTON USA licensees’ mills exhibited at both shows and their presence was dually promoted at the CCI and Cotton Incorporated booths. CCI staff also helped buyers and manufacturers looking for cotton garments and cotton yarn suppliers to identify new business contacts.

Visited by key European and American brands, including Marks and Spencer, Target, Victoria Secret, Gerry Weber and Gucci, the “Promoting U.S. Cotton” stands proved a popular meeting point at the shows. The booths focused on sourcing support, the COTTON USA marketing and licensing program and related developments in the field of consumer behavior. Technical innovations were also highlighted, and a “Colours and Surface Forecast” presentation by Cotton Incorporated gave visitors the opportunity to learn more about fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2013.

Look out for CCI at the next Texworld and Première Vision shows in February 2012.
