CCI returned to Paris last month to promote the benefits of U.S. cotton at the Texworld and Premiere Vision (PV) trade shows. 14,038 trade professionals attended the Texworld exhibition, including a wide array of high-calibre prestigious buyers. One of the flourishing sectors at the four day event was cotton and natural fibres and visitors commented on the increase in quality of the range on offer from exhibitors.

These two shows represent the largest combined exhibition of the world’s leading mills and despite the current global economic situation, visitor numbers increased by 6 percent, demonstrating the vitality and appeal of both events.

CCI and Cotton Incorporated jointly exhibited at both shows and were joined by Supima in the U.S Cotton booth at Texworld  to bring buyers and suppliers together to highlight how CCI can add value to their businesses. Key European and American brands visited the booth on all days, giving CCI numerous opportunities to meet with current and prospective COTTON USA licensees. These included Bueltel Group, BHS, Calvin Klein, Gerry Weber, Max Mara, Marks and Spencer, Sainsburys, Stefanel, Sears, Targett and VF Europe. Several companies also approached CCI with interest in becoming COTTON USA licensees, including Turkish and Chinese manufacturers.

“Traceability” continues to be a key concern for buyers and was one of the important themes covered at the events. The booth featured information on U.S. cotton and cotton trends for Fall/ Winter 2011-2012, plus a Supima section which highlighted U.S. grown Pima cotton.

Look out for CCI’s stand at the next Texworld and Premiere Vision events on September 13th - 16th.
